What to Watch for Week of February 11 Project 1
Project 2 Project 1 Bell Rock Boulevard Roundabout The roundabout at SR 179 and Bell Rock Boulevard should be functional this week. This is the final of five roundabout intersections for Project 1. The time needed to complete each roundabout has diminished, demonstrating momentum and progress. New lights at the roundabouts in the Village are going through a “100-hour burn-in” process to test them prior to setting them for normal operation. During this time, they must remain on at all times. With 11.25 inches of rain falling since December 1, 2007, paving operations for project 1 have been delayed. This week, paving operations are set to resume. Possible Weekend Work to Speed Completion Work may occur on some weekends. As always, two-way traffic and business access will be maintained. Work Begins on Morgan Road Realignment SR 179 construction crews have begun work at the intersection of SR 179 and Morgan Rd. Crews will be doing rough grading for a new Morgan Road re-alignment so it meets 179 at a straight angle and provides easier access. This area will be used as a facilitation zone and staging ground for construction equipment. Crews will be working Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Crews will begin diverting the creek to allow construction of the bridge piers and foundations. This diversion will begin next week and will involve temporary pipes to accommodate flows. Please note: Changes to construction plans can happen frequently due to weather, equipment availability and personnel issues. We try to anticipate construction activities a week in advance but changes may occur. Intermittent lane closures, with short delays, may not always be known in advance.
